Raised in California but born somewhere else, Landry turned to comics and books when he was very young as a way to escape a bleak existence. By the time he was a teenager, Landry was working whatever job he could find during the day and writing at night. His first comic was published before he was 21, his first novel completed before 25, his first TV show deal signed when he was 30. In 2012 he found himself on the New York Times Bestsellers list. There are 52 episodes of a cartoon series based on his writing airing in around 15 countries, but he hasn't watched them yet - too busy writing more.
